Vijayanagar ((カンナダ語:ವಿಜಯನಗರ)) is a neighbourhood in west Bangalore, India. It derives its name from the Vijayanagara empire that flourished in south India during 15th and 16th centuries. It is bound by Mysore Road and Magadi Road, with Chord Road cutting through. ==History== Attiguppe,a part of Vijayanagar, was a village. It is old. People started dwelling in other parts of Vijayanagar locality from late 1964s to be exact. Vijayanagar was called Hosahalli. It has a sizable middle class population. It is usually called Binny Layout, because in early 1960s this place was made a township especially for the workers of Binny Mills (built by British) building standing tall till now. Early inhabitants were employees of organizations such as BCC (now known as BBMP), BHEL, KIMCO, and AMCO, which are located on Mysore Road.
